The Printworks hosted six days of family friendly activities that took place in The Pump Yard during both Manchester and Trafford half term.
With the cold weather showing no signs of easing The Printworks was the perfect destination for families to catch a movie and enjoy a bite to eat. Family friendly activities in the Pump Yard gave an opportunity for families to enjoy something different as they visited the scheme. Here’s what we had during half term for everyone to enjoy!
Tuesday 13 February – with ‘Early Man’ out at Vue cinemas Pippa Pixley was onsite with her printing press to make some cave art! The Printworks used to be a newspaper publishing house so having a printing press back in action in the scheme was very exciting!
Wednesday 14 February – RSPB was at The Printworks teaching people about wildlife in the City. Did you know The Printworks has their own rooftop garden so the RSPB team had lot of tips on how to help support the environment when living in a City
Thursday 15 February – Craft workshop. To celebrate Chinese New Year we gave people the chance of making their own Chinese lanterns, hats and event dragons to help celebrate the Year of the Dog.
Tuesday 20 February – Did you know we have four beehives on our rooftop garden? Pippa Pixley taught children about honey bees and their journey to collect honey with her ‘Harmony the Honeybee’ story books. Pippa also had some great bee crafts too!
Wednesday 21 February – RSPB was at The Printworks teaching people about wildlife in the City. Did you know The Printworks has their own rooftop garden so the RSPB team had lot of tips on how to help support the environment when living in a City.
