Dr Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), his wife (Amy Seimetz), and their two children relocate from Boston to rural New England with the hope of getting away from the non-stop drama of city life.
As they arrive at their new home, the Creeds believe they’ve finally found the paradise they’ve been searching for – the house is gorgeous and the nearby forest doubles up as the back garden.
That is until their new neighbour, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), eerily enlightens them about the sinister burial site in the woods that has haunted generations of children before them… The ‘Pet Sematary’.
When the Creed family cat dies tragically, Louis chooses to ignore the warnings and ventures deep into the woods to bury it in the mysterious animal cemetery.
An unsettling series of events begin to unravel, starting with the resurrection of those buried in the haunted forest floor. As Louis and his family begin to suffer the disturbing reality of what lies ahead, they realise that, sometimes, dead pets are better than the alternative…
A retelling of the 1983 Stephen King novel of the same name, Pet Sematary stars Amy Seimetz (Wild Nights with Emily), John Lithgow (Daddy’s Home 2) and Jason Clarke (Everest). Directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer, who worked together on Scream: The TV Series, Pet Sematary promises to be as chilling as it is captivating.
