When a disease kills 98% of America’s children, the surviving 2% develop uncontrollable super powers and are declared an immediate threat by the government. Afraid of what they could do with their newfound powers, the government forces all parents to turn their kids into detainment camps for testing. Soon, there won’t be any kids anywhere.
Among the prisoners is 16-year-old Ruby (Amandla Stenberg), one of the most powerful young people of them all. Thanks to her outstanding supernatural abilities, she manages to escape the camp and bands together with another group of teens on the run.
The newly formed group combine their powers together to become a united force. To reclaim their lives, they must do everything they can to bring down the adults who tried to take away their futures.
