The Printworks and Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Gym have designed a series of ten minute walks to encourage people who live and work in the city centre to get active, inspired by Public Health England’s Active10 campaign.
Each of the walks, last just ten minutes and have been designed to get people away from their desks once a day even if they can only spare a short amount of time.
Fred Booth, Centre Director at The Printworks, says: “Our walks show that ten minutes is easily achievable and can also result in you being more productive the rest of the day. It’s important for both your mind and body to be active, especially if you spend the majority of your time hunched over a computer in the office.”
Neil McDonald, Deputy General Manager for Nuffield Health, added: “Following a conversation with Greater Sports Manchester we’ve come up with this lovely idea to get Manchester moving. We want to break down barriers that stop people being active, showing that fitness and health are accessible and for everyone!”
