In conjunction with Manchester Day and the parade that took place within the City The Printworks decided to hold their own festivities.
It was a glorious summers day in the City and people were clearly enjoying the sunshine and all the floats and performers from the parade as people lined the streets. This was the first big event to take place in the City following the Manchester Arena attack and the parade had a moving tribute to the victims too.
The Printworks had five local Manchester acts performing on the day and a face-painter and kids balloon artist onsite. The balloon artist did a fantastic job making bees and love hearts to give out to families. Printworks tenants gave meals and drinks for free in return for people giving donations to the I Love MCR emergancy fund.
The Printworks were also inviting people to decorate a pebble with messages of love, peace and hope which were placed on our rooftop garden as a memorial to the Manchester victims.
We are pleased to say that we raised £520 towards the I Love MCR fund.
We also installed an I Love MCR banner courtesy of Mancsy which is hanging proud in our Pump Yard area. The hoarding was also repainted to include a bee with angel wings, 22 bees and a Manchester scene.
We love Manchester!
